No clear value for subscribers
This is a common mistake repeated by most marketers and often spotted on email templates. The “Sign up” button on the template has nothing extra to add value to the busy recipient. Instead of just using a button, you can include a freebie such as an eBook, or Whitepaper download to motivate users to click and join your subscription.
Lack of Objective or Directionless
Many email program are developed without a clear objective or goal in mind. Probably email campaign was initated after a recommendation by a marketing consultant. Or just because your competitor is sending email newsletter to their subscribers. Instead of just using email, take some time aside to figure out the objective of the campaign and develop an entire marketing program.
Targeting the Wrong Audience
Most of the marketing budget goes waste due to wrong targeting. In a recent study, 37% of all online advertising is wasted in the US alone. This show that a staggering chunk of marketing dollars goes without any traction. To avoid such facts, it’s important to target the right audience.
