Workday is the HR and finance system at more than 11,500 organizations, and the people who influence a Workday deal sit in a short list of job titles. Below are ten large companies that use Workday in 2026, the roles to target at each, and the steps to find and reach them.
One note on the list: it is a selection, not a ranking. Workday does not publish a customer league table, so each company here is included because Workday or a major outlet has named it as a customer.
In its fiscal 2026 results (February 2026), Workday reported more than 11,500 customers, with more than 7,000 of them on core HCM and Financials. Its May 2026 results release describes Workday as serving more than 65% of the Fortune 500. Workday Rising 2026 runs October 12 to 15 in Las Vegas, and Workday’s announcement cites more than 30,000 in-person and digital attendees from HR, finance, and IT.
Those three functions are the ones to map in every account.
Revenue is the latest full fiscal year (2025) unless marked. Employee counts are the latest company-reported figures.
Workday named Accenture among the customers that expanded their use in its fourth quarter fiscal 2026 results, and Fortune lists it as a notable customer. For a services firm, HR and talent data run the business. Start with the CHRO and the HR Director, then bring in the CIO on integrations.
Workday announced Bank of America as live on Workday HCM back in 2016, and Fortune still names it as a notable customer in 2025. Expect a formal security review, so lead with compliance proof. The CHRO and the CIO are the first two names to find.
Google appears in the expansion customers of Workday’s second quarter fiscal 2026 release (August 2025). Technology companies tend to buy through engineering-minded IT leaders, so speak to the CIO and IT Director about integrations and data access.
The CVS Health expansion was listed in Workday’s first quarter fiscal 2026 results (May 2025). A workforce spread across stores, clinics, and offices makes workforce management and payroll the live topics. Target the HR Director and the CFO.
Merck was named among the expanded customers in Workday’s February 2026 results. Pharma finance answers to the CFO, so start there, and add the CHRO for anything touching talent or workforce planning.
Workday’s May 2026 release lists GE Vernova as an expansion customer. Manufacturing is 22% of Span’s Workday list, and industrial buyers weigh systems decisions through IT. Target the CIO, CTO, and IT Director.
Fortune names AT&T as a notable Workday customer. A company this size has many HR and finance owners, so identify the CHRO and CFO first and work down to the directors who run the day-to-day.
United Airlines was a new Workday customer in the first quarter fiscal 2026 release (May 2025). A 2025 signing suggests rollout work is still under way, which puts system administrators and IT directors in the seat for add-ons and integrations.
Nationwide showed up in the second quarter fiscal 2026 expansion list (August 2025). Banking and financial firms make up 20% of Span’s Workday list, and the CFO and CHRO are the buyers to reach.
Chipotle expanded with Workday, per the first quarter fiscal 2026 release (May 2025). Retail is 10% of Span’s Workday list. Frontline hiring and scheduling put the HR Director first, with the CFO second.
Seven titles cover most Workday buying committees. Span’s Workday list carries all seven.
Write to the problem each title owns, and keep the first two lines about that problem.
Contact two or three roles per account in the same week and refer to the shared problem, so the thread reaches the committee and not one inbox. Use email first, a LinkedIn touch second, and a call to follow up. Send to business contacts only, with a clear opt-out.
Span’s Workday users list has 33,653 companies and 291,238 contacts, verified October 2026. The industry mix is Technology Services 28%, Manufacturing 22%, Banking and Financial 20%, Healthcare 15%, Retail 10%, and Others 5%. Titles include CIO, CTO, CHRO, CFO, IT Director, HR Director, and System Administrator.
