01
Small business
QuickBooks Online remains the default cloud accounting software for US small businesses and the accountants who serve them. Intuit reported that QuickBooks Online Accounting revenue grew 23% in fiscal 2026 (Intuit FY26 results).
02
Migration window
Intuit stopped selling new QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus and Mac Plus subscriptions to US customers after July 31, 2024 (Intuit). Enterprise is still sold. Thousands of businesses remain on Desktop in 2026, and each one faces a decision between QuickBooks Online, Enterprise, or a move to mid-market ERP.
03
Small business
Xero closed fiscal 2026 with 4.92 million subscribers and 31% revenue growth, helped by its acquisition of US bill pay platform Melio (Xero FY26 results). It is strongest in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and now pushing harder into the US.
04
Small business
FreshBooks serves freelancers, agencies and professional services firms that bill by the hour or by the project. Its users care about invoicing, time tracking and getting paid faster.
05
Small business
Zoho Books is popular with cost-conscious SMBs, especially in India, where GST compliance is built in, and with companies that already run Zoho CRM or Zoho One. These buyers prefer bundled suites over point solutions.
06
Small business
Sage 50 is the long-running desktop product for small businesses in the US, UK and Canada. Many users run it alongside spreadsheets and have not yet moved to the cloud.
07
SMB to mid-market
Sage 100 and Sage 300 run the books for thousands of manufacturers and distributors that outgrew entry-level tools. Many of these deployments are on premises and heavily customized.

08
Mid-market
Sage Intacct is the finance team’s choice when a company adds entities, locations or investors and needs clean consolidations. It is common in nonprofits, healthcare, SaaS and professional services.
09
Mid-market
NetSuite is the most common upgrade path for companies leaving QuickBooks, with Oracle reporting more than 40,000 organizations on the platform (BrokenRubik). NetSuite customers spend heavily on integrations, implementation partners and connected apps.
10
Mid-market
Business Central is Microsoft’s cloud ERP for small and mid-sized companies. It is sold through partners and fits businesses already standardized on Microsoft 365, Teams and Power BI.
11
End of life
Dynamics GP is in its final years. Microsoft stopped selling new subscriptions on April 1, 2026, ends tax updates and enhancements on December 31, 2029, and ends security updates on April 30, 2031 (Rand Group). Every GP customer has to choose a new system, and most will decide in the next two years.
Accounting platform deadlines driving 2026 to 2031 buying decisions
12
Mid-market
Acumatica is a cloud ERP with strong editions for construction, distribution and manufacturing, and it prices by resources used instead of per user. Vista Equity Partners agreed to acquire the company in 2025 (Acumatica), which usually means more investment in the partner channel.
13
SMB to mid-market
SAP Business One serves small and mid-sized companies, including subsidiaries of larger SAP customers. It is sold and customized by a large reseller network.
14
Mid-market
Epicor Kinetic and Prophet 21 are built for manufacturers and distributors. Their users buy MES, quality, EDI, supply chain and shop floor tools.
15
Mid-market
Infor CloudSuite targets specific industries such as industrial manufacturing, food and beverage, healthcare and hospitality. Many customers still run older Infor products like SyteLine and Baan.
Send us your account list. Span’s tech install append adds the accounting and ERP system to each record, so your team stops guessing.
16
Enterprise
Costpoint is the standard for US government contractors that need DCAA-compliant project accounting and timekeeping. It is a narrow but high-value audience.
17
2027 deadline
SAP runs finance for a large share of the world’s biggest companies. Mainstream maintenance for SAP ECC ends in 2027, with paid extended support available to 2030 (Rimini Street). That deadline is driving S/4HANA projects, data migration work and third-party support deals.
18
Enterprise
Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP serves large, often global enterprises with complex consolidation, procurement and compliance needs. Many customers moved from Oracle E-Business Suite, JD Edwards or PeopleSoft.
19
Enterprise
Workday Financials is most common at enterprises that already run Workday HCM and want HR and finance on one platform. These buyers have large budgets and long evaluation cycles.
20
AI-native
Rillet is one of a new group of AI-native ERPs built for venture-backed SaaS companies, with automated revenue recognition and a faster month-end close. It raised a $70M Series B in August 2025, and competitors such as Campfire and DualEntry have raised similar rounds (ERP Research).
The user base is still small, but it is a useful signal. A company that picks an AI-native ERP is an early adopter, and early adopters buy other new finance tools first.
An accounting software list is only useful when it changes who your team calls first. We use three filters with clients who sell into finance teams.
Step 1
Match the platform to your offer. A NetSuite connector has no market among Xero users. Filter by installed platform first, then add firmographics. Span’s QuickBooks list alone carries 70+ business and finance filters.
Step 2
Match the segment to your deal size. QuickBooks and Xero users sit in small business. Sage Intacct, NetSuite and Business Central users sit in mid-market. SAP, Oracle and Workday users are enterprise.
Step 3
Prioritize accounts with a deadline. QuickBooks Desktop, Dynamics GP, SAP ECC and Sage 50 users all face a forced or near-forced decision. Accounts with a deadline respond faster. Put them at the top of your sequence.
Then reach the right person. The buyer changes with company size:
Span pairs each install with verified contacts from our accountants and tax professionals list, CFO list and C-level executives email list.
Stale data breaks this playbook. Finance contacts change jobs, and companies switch platforms. Every Span technology list goes through a triple verification process:
If your CRM already has these accounts, a CRM data audit and enrichment will show how much of it has decayed. Estimate it first with the data decay calculator.
Pick the platform your product fits best, and we will send a free sample of verified users matched to your target industries, regions and job titles.
Want the numbers first? Check what a campaign could return with the campaign ROI calculator.
QuickBooks leads among US small businesses, and Xero leads in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. NetSuite and Sage Intacct are the most common mid-market cloud choices. SAP and Oracle dominate large enterprises.
Accounting software handles the general ledger, invoicing, bills and reporting. ERP accounting software adds inventory, procurement, manufacturing, projects and multi-entity consolidation in one system. Companies usually move from the first to the second as they grow.
Technographic data providers such as Span Global Services track which platforms companies run and pair each install with verified decision-maker contacts. You can buy a ready list, such as a QuickBooks users list, or append software data to your existing accounts.
